PIN-UP CONCEPT
Before knowing how it all came about, it is interesting to know first the term pin-up. Well, it is a photograph or a suggestive illustration of a woman or a man, the latter being very uncommon. It must be clear that at no time should these pin-up photographs be related to pornography since it is something that, as we will see later, marked an era.
EVOLUTION OF THE PIN-UP MOVEMENT
1930S
Although we speak of the 30's as the beginning itself, it is known that there was a group of women who already by the decade of the 20's revolutionized the world. This group of women appeared in posters or illustrations that at first was not well received in the U.S. Gradually received more acceptance since the main beneficiaries were the soldiers of America who came to decorate their lockers with these pin-up girls.
It was already in the 30's when artists such as George Petty used the girls to decorate calendars and they began to appear in magazines of the time.
40'S
This was the golden age of pin-up girls. They came to be considered patriotic amulets since soldiers were always accompanied by images and photographs of them during World War II. The artists who painted or photographed them were considered artists and they and the artists began to receive the recognition they so richly deserved.
60'S-80'S
During this period, illustrations, which took a long time to produce, lost momentum. It is then when many women turned to show business (striptease) and cinema. This was the birth of the well-known Playboy magazine, which became the guru and reference medium of this movement.
As we have seen, more than a fashion was a revolutionary social movement that sought to end the censorship of the time. If today you want to dress like a pin-up girl is very important to know where this concept comes from. It is not only a way of dressing, it is a way of thinking, acting and being. You can take a look at our dresses more pin-up that together with your attitude will be a piece of cake.
